We are delighed to announce the launch of Pat Conaghan’s new book entitled St. Columba’s Industrial School & Boatyard Killybegs. This is Pat Conaghan’s fourth book on local history and sets out in detail how St. Columba’s Industrial School, Killybegs was founded.

It looks into the background to the establishment of the school, the search for a site and the construction of the building. The management regime, teachers, trade instructors and domestic staff are all set out in detail.

Eight hundred and fifty boys passed through the Industrial School over during it’s forty years in existence. This is the story of where they came from, how they were cared for, clothed, fed, educated, trained and sent out into the world.

This book is a fascinating read and a detailed look at the history of the Industrial School in Killybegs.
